Our anaesthetists are medical specialists. They are highly trained in anaesthesia, pain management, resuscitation and the management of medical emergencies.
Burnie Anaesthesia anaesthetist are a group of independent practitioners who provide anaesthetic services at the North West Private Hospital. They are not employed by the North West Private Hospital, or by your surgeon.
Pre-anaesthetic assessment and consultation is an important part of specialist anaesthetic practice. Your anaesthetist wil often do an anaesthetic assessment immediately prior to your surgery. However, with patients who have complex procedures planned, have severe medical illnesses or specific anaesthesia related concerns or problems, a pre-anaesthetic consultation in our rooms may be necessary. Ideally this consultation should occur the week before the intended hospital admission. An appontment will be made for you by our practice managers.
